Seeking Their First CFP Appearance

Once the Red Raiders earn admittance into the 2025 CFP, it will mark the university's first entry into the highest level of collegiate postseason play. Texas Tech College Football Playoffs t-shirts and merch will be available in multiple formats. TTU specific gear will be available featuring the official CFP and University logos. Additional shirts will feature the logos from the 12-team field.

A Season for the Ages

Texas Tech is enjoying its best season since the program first kicked off in 1925. Th e Red Raiders have won 11 conference championships through the years but have not hoisted a conference championship trophy since 1994 when Head Coach Spike Dykes somehow earned a co-conference title despite a 6-6 overall and 4-3 Southwest Conference record.

Leading the Charge

With injuries impacting the QB position, Behren Morton and Will Hammond have shared the primary passing duties. Morton began his Red Raider career in 2021 and late in the 2025 campaign was enjoying his best season. Morton lit up the scoreboard in his team's 45-14 romp over Oregon State. Morton passed for 464 yards and four touchdowns.

Texas Tech entered the 2025 season with a heralded defense that drew national attention. Defensive stars have included LB Jacob Rodriguez, DB Brice Pollock and LB David Bailey. Prior to his stint with TTU, Bailey played three seasons with Stanford. Bailey has posted double-digit sacks this season including seven in a three-game stint vs Houston, Kansas and Arizona State.
